Aborted Fetus - The Art Of Violent Torture (EN)

Aborted Fetus is a Russian Brutal Death Metal Band which will release their fourth album "The Art Of Violent Torture" on the 28.04.2017. Firstly the name of the band and the album don't attract ones attention extremly as it is a Brutal Death Metal album. However, the really important thing is whether the music has the potential to imprint on the listener's memory for the long term.

A short intro initiates the album before it straights in your face with "Boiled Alive" in a genre typical manner. The most of the time they push through in high speed and the blast beats dominate the happening whereby it abruptly changes in between into mid-tempo only to speed up again afterwards. This line of approach will be followed consequently with the next songs.

Technical playings are not on the front burner they rather count on brachial hammering and short songs. Here we see the problem which I have with this album. Everything sounds quite well but unfortunately it doesn't knock me of my heels so far. Only "Awaiting" offers a little surprise. Although it is a calm, sinister interlude on the guitar before it continues with "Burning At Stake" as usual.

The slowly and sinister "Buried Alive" let me listen attentively again. It is a good contrast and brings a little tension in this matter. The song "Hanged And Quartered" captures the band at its peak at the end again. First it starts slowly and only in the middle it speeds up before it dies slowly away again. More songs like this would have valorized the album extremely.

Conclusion:
"The Art Of Violent Torture" offers mainly genre typical average whereby the overall impression has been a bit upgraded with two great songs "Buried Alive" and "Hanged And Quartered".
