Well, after 16 years you can get yourself together and produce a
new album. At least that's what Abuse seems to have thought and so
they release the "Nothing is Safe" as the successor of the debut
"Like a Virgin", which was created in 2001.
All in all, there
is not much to say about this album. After a short spoken intro, the
beating and sawing begins. That's consistent throughout the whole
length of 25 minutes.
The drums, which seem to be unfocused, heat
up the whole thing, the guitars are buzzing and they drill around
and the guttural vocals fly over the music like some kind of swarm.
Only rarely they slow down the velocity and there is no trace of
melody to be found. Fans of blunt banging, which is by no means
considered to be negative, will find delight with this album, as the
instruments often resemble a pure chopping. Lord Marco. who is
usually active for Six Feet Under, plays the drums and seems to be
able to let off steam here.
However, in the end it seems like
they ran out of energy. The last songs no longer consist only out of
Brutal Death infernos and thus a thrashy solo can be found in
"Bitchkabob".
Conclusion:
The album resorts to the typical
features of Brutal Death Metal and thereby creates a fine album.
However, there almost no noticable up or down eruptions. Therefore
an album remains which you can hear but it's not really necessary.
